Health traits in current dairy cattle breeding: A review

چکیده
The review focuses on breeding practices aimed at improving resistance to diseases and health disorders that are associated with better efficiency, welfare longevity of cows. It is commonly known like mastitis, foot claw disorders, metabolic reproductive issues seriously violate dairy cows’ well-being. cause prevailing fertility deterioration has been the intensive selection merely based higher milk production starting after Second World War. Therefore since last decades 20th-century genetic programs have increasingly focused increasing traits using several omics techniques, including genomics. first steps for maintaining goal disease were introduction data collection national levels followed by an elaboration gene evaluation systems. was proved exhibit additive variability exploitable in breeding. For greater indicator used, which strongly genetically correlated traits, heritability, above all, usually easily measurable low cost. Genome-wide association studies identified polymorphisms liability could also be used speeding up efforts. Keywords: cow; clinical mastitis; disease;

Integrating genomic selection into dairy cattle breeding programmes: a review.
Extensive genetic progress has been achieved in dairy cattle populations on many traits of economic importance because of efficient breeding programmes. Success of these programmes has relied on progeny testing of the best young males to accurately assess their genetic merit and hence their potential for breeding. Over the last few years, the integration of dense genomic information into statis...
متن کاملMethods of Embryo Sexing in Cattle Breeding: A Review
Different livestock sectors as beef industries get benefit from the production of male animals while dairy industries get benefit from the milk production by the female animals. Therefore, it is obvious need to produce the animals of desired sex which can be achieved by predetermining the sex of conceptus at the time of conception i.e. pre determination of sex may be of great economic importanc...
متن کاملBreeding and Genetics: Dairy Cattle Breeding I
Humans obtain a number of products from animals. These include food, clothing, medical materials, companionship and research knowledge to name a few. A valued ethic contends that it is inappropriate for one to treat another as a means to an end. In short, it is wrong to treat another as simply a product. Historically, non-human beings have not been included as “others” and thus their treatment ...
متن کاملBreeding and Genetics: Dairy Cattle
Protein-damaging stresses, including heat shock, cold, altered pH and oxygen deprivation induce the expression of a subgroup of molecular chaperones, called heat shock proteins (Hsp), which consist of several protein families designated by their molecular weight, such as the Hsp90, Hsp70, Hsp60, and the small Hsp (sHsp) families. Small heat shock proteins (sHsp) with a molecular mass of 15–30 k...
متن کاملConsequences for Dairy Cattle Breeding
Advances in breeding and management resulted in a considerable increase of production traits in Austrian dairy cattle. Besides, low input systems were also established. Possible genotype by environment interactions (G x E) and genetic antagonisms dependent on production level might indicate the need for separate breeding programmes for dairy farms diff ering in management intensity. Th us, G x ...
